Can one get really excited about video codecs? Uhh...yes. Apple tends to be a bit ahead of the curve when it comes to video codecs. They didn't invent this (see International Telecommunication Union ) but they also stated that both BluRay and HD DVD will support this. So no matter what format the next generation of DVD players pervails this codec will be viable.
